As a little kid in the 70s, Stewart Berg visited the same street in West Roxbury where one house held garage sales every other Saturday morning during the two to three months of summer when the weather stays balmy, and he always sang the same question: “got any old plates?”
License plates, that is.
“I must have bought like 100 plates from this lady. Longtime Anaheim Ducks executive David McNab announces retirement

Longtime Anaheim Ducks executive David McNab, whose association with the NHL franchise dates back to its very beginnings, announced his retirement Tuesday.
McNab, 65, joined the Ducks in 1993 as the club’s first director of player personnel after working with the Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers and New York Rangers. The former University of Wisconsin goaltender became Anaheim’s assistant general manager in 1994 and served in that role for 14 years. In 2008, he was promoted to senior vice president of hockey operations.
A scout at heart, McNab negotiated many of the team’s contracts, oversaw all aspects of player development and provided expertise with the salary cap and collective bargaining agreement for Ducks GM Bob Murray. He has worked continuously in the NHL since 1978. His father, Max, was a GM with Washington and New Jersey. His older brother, Peter, scored 363 goals over a 14-yea
Ray Ferraro and Brian Boucher to join ESPN as NHL analysts: Sources

Under the deals, Ferraro will work as a game analyst during the regular season and contribute to ESPN s Stanley Cup coverage. Boucher will leave NBC to join ESPN.
Ferraro, 56, played in the NHL for 18 seasons with the Hartford Whalers, Los Angeles Kings and New York Islanders and Rangers. He currently serves as an analyst for TSN and started his broadcasting career at ESPN on NHL 2Night with John Buccigross and Barry Melrose.
Boucher, 44, spent 13 seasons in the NHL playing for the Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes and San Jose Sharks. He currently works as a studio and game analyst for NBC Sports Network.
