CONNECTICUT The past 12 months have been as unique a period as any in the history of Connecticut business. That s right, the coronavirus pandemic first reared its ugly head about a year ago.
It s been both a financial and emotional roller coaster for businesses both great and small, national and local. Terms like hand sanitizer, mandatory masks and partitions and limited capacity became synonymous with terms like cash and charge and reservations and appointments.
One Chinese restaurant in northern Connecticut went to an extreme with a protective film all over the place.
Will Bridgeport amphitheater be able to host crowded concerts?

BRIDGEPORT Picture a warm summer evening with thousands of music lovers packing the new amphitheater to enjoy their favorite musical act. They sing along, cheer, dance, sip cold local beer and munch on concessions from area vendors.
That scene, despite the year-old global coronavirus pandemic, is what the men behind Bridgeport’s 5,700-seat outdoor concert venue are envisioning as they ready to finally open after missing the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
But is it realistic?
“It’s not about us. It’s about the entertainer,” Saffan said Thursday. “Live Nation will book entertainers based on a certain level of income they can expect.” And that talent will not tour without full capacity crowds, Saffan said.

Cesar Galvez will join the Albuquerque staff as a coach after being named manager of Short-Season Boise prior to 2020. Previously, Galvez was a coach for Boise from 2018-19 following a seven-year career as a Minor League infielder in the Rockies organization.

Minor Leagues, Major Changes

In all, 43 teams lost affiliated status and three formerly independent league teams joined the MiLB ladder. Of those 43 teams, 26 have found their way into some sort of affiliated Partner League, such as the Appalachian League (which will showcase MLB Draft-eligible college players) or the Pioneer League (full independent).
