NEW YORK (Reuters) – The southeastern United States will be the first to see price rises at the pumps due to the supply disruption caused by the shutdown of the country’s top fuel pipeline network – and demand has already picked up as drivers fill their tanks, industry experts said on Sunday.
The attack forced Colonial Pipeline to shut down its entire system on Friday. Some smaller lines were restarted Sunday, but Colonial has given no timeline for the restart of its main pipelines.
The network ships more than 2.5 million barrels per day (bpd) of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel from the Gulf Coast to populous southeast and northeast states.

The largest U.S. fuel pipeline system, Colonial Pipeline, shut down on Friday after a cyberattack. Nearly half the fuel consumed in the populous eastern United States passes through the network.
WHAT S THE OUTLOOK FOR PUMP PRICES?
Prices at gasoline stations are expected to rise if the outage continues. Retail prices across much of the United States follow the lead of benchmark New York gasoline futures. Trading in those futures opened for the week on Sunday up more than 3%, hitting the highest level in three years.

(CNN) A Delta flight was forced to return to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday night after coming in contact with birds during takeoff, the airline said.
Delta Flight 2281, which was headed to Washington, DC, returned to the airport at 10:36 p.m., 47 minutes after it took off, according to information from flight data tracking platform FlightAware.
The flight turned around after its crew reported a bird strike had cracked a windshield on the Airbus A320.
In a statement to CNN, Delta Air Lines said maintenance personnel were evaluating the aircraft as the airline worked to reaccommodate customers on an alternate aircraft to Washington D.C.
