The Shoppingtown Hotel has become an unlikely leader in the pub rock revival in recent years. Located in Doncaster, the hotel’s Cabaret Room not only hosts regular tributes to the likes of Fleetwood Mac and ABBA, but has fast become a favoured tour-stop for many Australian guitar bands of yesteryear.
In the last few years, The Shoppingtown has welcomed everyone from The Angels, Dragon and Rose Tattoo to You Am I and Jebediah. Given the venue’s budding reputation as a bulwark of Oz rock worship, the calibre of acts at the 2021 Wanstock festival makes perfect sense.

The Black Sorrows spent a lot of 2019 touring Europe and Australia following the release of Joe Camilleri s 49th album, Citizen John, which debuted at #2 on the AIR Chart and #11 on the ARIA Album Chart in April 2019.
“Sometimes you hit a purple patch and you can do no wrong,” Joe says of the UK/Scandinavia leg of the tour, which found the Sorrows digging deep into the past as well as claiming new ground. “I know I ve gotta do ‘Harley & Rose’. I ve gotta do ‘Chained To The Wheel’. I ve gotta do ‘Hit & Run’ or ‘Shape I m In’ - and I do. I do those songs in a really heartfelt kind of way,” he says. “But some of the songs on Citizen John are really hitting home in the live environment. ‘Wednesday s Child’, ‘Silvio’ and ‘Worlds Away’ are working really well and the band loves playi
ASBURY PARK - Beach badges for the 2021 season went on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday through the Viply app and at the city s Beach Office, located at First Avenue and the Boardwalk.
Season badges are $70 for adults; $20 for seniors 62 and older (with valid ID) and teens ages 13 to 17. Children 12 and under, and active military personnel and their dependents, as well as retired, disabled and non-active veterans are free.
Children 12 and under must have adult supervision.
Badges will be on sale today until 4 p.m. Users reported difficulty connecting through the Viply app Thursday morning, likely due to strong demand for season badges.
