Horwich town council have said it is a “crying shame” that they are to lose a pocket park as part of land sales across the borough. A pocket park in Chorley New Road, Horwich, opposite Kildonan House which has several park benches, is set to be sold by Bolton Council despite volunteer work to bring it back into use. 27 different sites across the borough are recommended to be sold at auction to raise vital funds for the council, many of which are in a state of disrepair, as part of a Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP). This could include sites being sold for housing.
