Local families able to get necessary medical help without insurance at Heights clinic Saturday

HARKER HEIGHTS — Local residents gathered at the Harker Heights Activities Center on Saturday for a free children’s clinic for underinsured and uninsured families. The Harker Heights Police Department and Feed My Sheep in Bell County partnered to put the clinic on in Harker Heights. The clinic provided regular health checks as well as dental, vision and hearing checks. Sports physicals were also provided at the clinic. Angel Carroll is the Healthy Homes coordinator and the victim services coordinator, and she played a large part in putting on the clinic. “We are very excited to be able to help several families in our community. Healthy Homes program, that’s what we do on the daily … and so today this is just another great opportunity to be able to offer a number of resources within just a matter of minutes because we have the crowd walking through,” Carroll said.

A pop-up health clinic in Harker Heights will offer free services for children on Saturday. Services will range from sports physicals, to vision/hearing screenings, to well/sick child visits for uninsured or under-insured children, according to a flyer for the event. The clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harker Heights Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail Drive. All minors must be accompanied by adults, who must present a photo ID. Free pop-up children s clinic coming to Harker Heights May 15

If your child needs a checkup but they re currently uninsured, there s an event coming up in May that might help put your mind at ease. The City of Harker Heights will host a free children s clinic on Saturday, May 15th from 9 am to 1 pm. Physicians will provide free visits for both sick and well children, sports physicals, vision and hearing screenings, and vaccines. Some community resources will also be available for families in need.
