The mayor of the one-year-old West Hants Regional Municipality says consolidation has been an unmitigated success, although he admits it will be years before the benefits can be properly measured.

HALIFAX The COVID-19 pandemic has Maritimers thinking up unique ways to keep their Easter traditions alive. Current public health restrictions only allow small groups to gather, however many are still finding ways to celebrate with their family – even from afar. Brad Deware is the owner of MacArthur s Flower Shop in Moncton. He says he s received hundreds of orders with people calling across the country. A lot of people from out of town are calling placing orders for family that can t come visit, from Ontario, B.C., basically all over the country, said Deware. Sending flowers is just one substitute for getting together – something New Brunswick health officials are advising against.
HALIFAX A 23-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries after crashing his dirt bike in East Clifford, N.S. on Wednesday. Around 6:25 p.m., police were advised of a collision on a trail off East Clifford Road. Police, along with fire officials and EHS members, attended the scene where they found a damaged dirt bike that had struck a rock. The driver, 23, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
HALIFAX Fredericton police confirmed they have located the remains of a 23-year-old woman who was reported missing on Thursday. Police say no foul play is suspected and the next of kin has been notified. Regretfully, we can now confirm that the remains of the 23-year woman who was reported missing from St. Mary’s First Nation yesterday, were located earlier this afternoon. Foul play is not suspected and the next of kin has been notified.
