This morning an official release came from NBC that it will not be broadcasting The Golden Globes telecast in 2022. The network made the announcement in the wake of a series of stories about the lack of diversity in the ranks of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the controversial group behind the Golden Globes. As I wrote in February, they have an internal payola network that operates on a level seen by the likes of The Lincoln Project. But grift and industry favoritism has long been a tolerated vice with this outfit.
Things started going poorly on the eve of this year’s broadcast when the group was highlighted as having no black members whatsoever. This led to a string of reactions from numerous fronts in the entertainment complex. After some failed on-stage bandaid comments a call from within the HFPA was made to begin fixing the issues. However, a pair of prominent names brought in to repair things last month ended as both walked out on their commitment
Scarlett Johansson has urged Hollywood to take a step back from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as she slammed the sexist questions and remarks she s received from members
The Black Widow star has called on her fellow actors and actresses to take a step back from the organisation - which presents the Golden Globes - as she claims she has received remarks by certain HFPA members that bordered on sexual harassment 11 May 2021
In a statement, she told Variety: As an actor promoting a film, one is expected to participate in awards season by attending press conferences as well as awards shows. In the past, this has often meant facing sexist questions and remarks by certain HFPA members that bordered on sexual harassment. It is the exact reason why I, for many years, refused to participate in their conference.
Sara Olshansky An Embrace, Of Sorts
Artist Sara Olshansky was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville in 2018 with a BFA in 2D Studio Art and a BA in Art History. In this drawing, Olshansky explores addition and erasure of imagery on a single picture plane, with interest in how this technique might mirror lived experience, especially with respect to time. By condensing past, present, and future to one, monoscenic picture plane, she makes the components interdependent, emphasizing their relativity. Instead of representing a space, as a drawing traditionally would, this composition conveys interactions and movements over time.

Dashing actor Tom Cruise has recorded his strong protest against HFPA s lack of diversity comment and delivered back his three Golden Globe trophies.
The Mission Impossible star Tom became the latest A-list star to protest as he returned his awards to the HFPA amid reports that NBC will not air the 2022 ceremony of the annual awards show.
The Golden Globes came under scrutiny this year in regards to the lack of inclusion and representation across their HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) members.
The 58-year-old superstar previously won two for best actor (Jerry Maguire and Born on the Fourth of July) and one for best supporting actor for Magnolia.
