HIDALGO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations at the Hidalgo and Anzalduas International Bridges arrested two people in connection with two failed separate, unrelated drug smuggling attempts of alleged methamphetamine and cocaine valued at $4,662,000.
“These two interceptions of hard narcotics are the result of hard work and determination by our frontline officers to keep our borders safe. Narcotics interdiction is one of many disciplines within Field Operations’ multi-faceted border security mission,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.

HIDALGO, TX U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge were busy on Friday with the interception of two separate, unrelated loads of hard narcotics with a combined street value of $4,166,000.
“Our officers’ continued resolve and dedication to the CBP mission of border security resulted in the discovery of these two loads of hard narcotics which will no longer make their way into our communities and have possible tragic effects,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.

HIDALGO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized hard narcotics worth $1,469,500 at the Texas-Mexico border this past weekend. They also seized $90,000 in undeclared U.S. currency.
“These interceptions of hard narcotics, although compact in size, illustrate both the pervasiveness of the drug threat and the resolve of our officers to keep our country safe by seizing these loads,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas. “Our robust enforcement posture in the outbound arena was instrumental in the discovery of the unreported U.S. currency.”
114 Pounds of Meth Stashed in Pickup Tires
HIDALGO, TX U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge seized $2,280,000 worth of alleged methamphetamine discovered in a pickup truck driven by an Edinburg, Texas man.

This seizure illustrates CBP’s ongoing effort to secure our borders at ports of entry and prevent this poison from inflicting further harm on our communities,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.
Border Patrol Agents Arrest Two Female Smugglers
HIDALGO, TX Border Patrol agents seized nearly $2 million worth of methamphetamine and cocaine at the Hidalgo and Anzalduas International Bridges last week.
According to CBP, on Sunday a 54-year-old Oklahoma woman arrived at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge in a Chrysler Pacifica. After the initial inspection, the woman was referred to a secondary investigation.
With the help of a canine unit, officers discovered liquid methamphetamine in the SUV’s gas tank. A total of 90 pounds of the drug worth with a street value of $1,802,000 was placed in plastic containers.
A few days before, a 26-year-old female from Texas traveling in a Ford Edge was referred to secondary inspection after arriving at the Anzalduas International Bridge. The subsequent inspection revealed 10 packages, weighing 24.65 pounds, of alleged cocaine hidden inside the vehicle. The narcotics had a street value of $190,000.
