TAMPA, FL - Residents in a Tampa neighborhood said speeding along their streets is becoming a growing issue.
Vania Walters moved to the Tampa Heights area in 2019. It s a neighborhood she felt welcomed to immediately, but there was one thing her neighbors were quick to point out. When I first moved on to the block everybody was very nice, very welcoming and the consistent factor was hey, when you re in the street be careful, Walters said.

TAMPA Three employees of the Hillsborough County School District received honors at the Hillsborough Education Foundation s 2021 Excellence in Education Awards Thursday evening at Blake High School.
Teacher of the Year Laura Meehan is an Adapted Music Specialist at Caminiti Exceptional Center. Adaptive arts teachers bring the arts into the lives of disabled students through education. Meehan serves on several board committees, including the Council for Exceptional Children Division of Visual and Performing Arts, and the Hillsborough Elementary Music Council. She recently got engaged and has raced as an Ironman athlete around the world. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech and her master s from Florida State University. She s currently working on a doctorate from USF.

PLANT CITY â A Plant City mother has been arrested on a manslaughter charge more than four months after her infant son drowned in a bathtub, records show.
Yesica Boxtha, 23, was arrested Sunday on a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child, Hillsborough County jail records show. Records show Boxtha was arrested on a warrant at the Orient Road jail and was released about six hours later after posting $15,000 bail.
