Judge to seal some statements made by Gibsonton teen charged with murder

TAMPA â Before he was arrested on a murder charge two months ago, records show, 15-year-old Hunter Eargood talked.
Early on the morning of March 11, Eargood fatally stabbed a man in Gibsonton, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriffâs Office. Court records say Eargood, who has since turned 16, made statements before and after the slaying that were heard by witnesses and he made spontaneous statements to a sheriffâs detective.

A Hillsborough County Deputy now dubbed “Crocodile Dun-Wheatee” is credited with relocating two alligators to the water in one month.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, an officer by the name of Deputy Wheaton helped return a 10-foot long alligator back to the water at the beginning of last month and followed that up with giving a 4-foot long alligator a lift back to a pond using only a broomstick at the end of last month.
In the more recent alligator incident, Wheaton and two other deputies responded after a 911 caller reported that an alligator was sleeping underneath a car in a residential neighborhood, according to the HCSO.
Updated: 1:17 PM EDT May 2, 2021 A Florida sheriff s deputy was captured on camera using a broom to wrangle an alligator that was found hiding underneath a car, Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office said they were called to a Tampa neighborhood last Thursday when a gator was spotted taking a snooze in the shade underneath a car. The approximately 4-foot gator had wondered from a nearby pond behind several homes in the neighborhood. One of the deputies used the broom to guide the reptile in the right direction. The gator latched onto the broom and went for a joyride back to the pond.Deputies are using the encounter to remind Floridians that it’s still alligator mating season.They advised residents to keep a safe distance, keep their pets on a leash, and swim only in designated swimming areas during daylight.
