(HCP Photo/Caitlin Forsha) Highland County commissioners Jeff Duncan, Terry Britton and David Daniels held a bid opening and extended a temporary employment contract during a brief meeting July 14 before traveling to Rocky Fork Lake to celebrate the completion of electrical upgrades. During their regular Wednesday morning meeting which included approximately seven minutes in open session, plus a short recess commissioners voted 3-0 to extend a contract with Donald Myers at Highland County Job & Family Services.

Search Warrant Results in Drug Seizure, Arrest of Hillsboro Man

Jul 9, 2021 A Hillsboro man has been charged with felony drug possession following the execution of a search warrant at home along the 200 block of East Lilly Avenue. According to Hillsboro Police, the warrant was served at 226 East Lilly after on Thursday, July 9th. During the search, a large amount of methamphetamine, heroin and pills were seized along with surveillance equipment, scales, cash, and drug paraphernalia. Brian New, 40, of Hillsboro, was arrested for first-degree felony Aggravated Possession of Drugs. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsboro Municipal Court on Monday, July 12th. In addition to Hillsboro Police, the Highland County Sheriff’s Department, the Greenfield Police Department, the Highland County Prosecutor’s Office and the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force assisted in the investigation, and the execution of the warrant.
