A Hillsboro man has been charged with felony drug possession following the execution of a search warrant at home along the 200 block of East Lilly Avenue.
According to Hillsboro Police, the warrant was served at 226 East Lilly after on Thursday, July 9th.
During the search, a large amount of methamphetamine, heroin and pills were seized along with surveillance equipment, scales, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Brian New, 40, of Hillsboro, was arrested for first-degree felony Aggravated Possession of Drugs. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsboro Municipal Court on Monday, July 12th.
In addition to Hillsboro Police, the Highland County Sheriff’s Department, the Greenfield Police Department, the Highland County Prosecutor’s Office and the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force assisted in the investigation, and the execution of the warrant.

Highland County Juvenile Court Kevin Greer has granted temporary custody of four children to Highland County Children Services following an emergency hearing Thursday, April 22.
According to Greer, he granted custody late Wednesday afternoon after receiving a case filing at 3:43 p.m. seeking “emergency temporary custody” of the four children.
“I felt like the allegations were extremely serious, and it was needed to protect the children,” he said.
During the hearing, Greer interviewed case worker Amber Schiller regarding the dates outlined in the complaint filed in Juvenile Court, which alleges that the four children are endangered, neglected and/or dependent.
