Angelo State University and Goodfellow Air Force Base hosted a language and culture fair in the Houston Harte University Center on Thursday, April 29.
The event began with an opening ceremony in which high-ranking members from Goodfellow and ASU President Ronnie Hawkins Jr. gave commencement speeches. ASU students, student organizations and members from Goodfellow stood at tables which had exhibits. The exhibits represented South Korean, Vietnamese, Native American, Arabian, Afghan, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Samoan culture. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the history, cuisine, music and craftsmanship of cultures from around the world with each stand.

The Student Life Office at Angelo State University, in collaboration with the Risk Management Department, Multicultural Center and Chartwells Food Services, planned an Earth Day celebration for the student body through community service programs outside between the Houston Harte University Center and Porter Henderson Library on April 22. Angelo State University’s Big Band, a component of the Jazz Ensembles program, also scheduled a performance on Earth Day at the same location. Neither group was aware of the double-booked date until the beginning of April, after which they began to cooperate.
The presentation is free and open to the public; however, masks and social distancing will be required.

SAN ANGELO, Texas The Texas Tech University Free Market Institute at Angelo State University is sponsoring a presentation by Yeonmi Park at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
According to an ASU press release, Park is a North Korean defector and human rights, activist.
The presentation will be held in the University Center s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and will be open to the public at no cost.
