The Hendre Lakes development will cover 90,000 square metres and include office and commercial buildings. A new station on the site, Cardiff Parkway, will sit on the current western line connecting to Bristol and beyond. The project will be delivered in a number of phases over eight years, with the train station part of the first phase. No contractors have been appointed, but developers Cardiff Parkway Developments hope construction will start later this year with the first phase completed and the station open for passengers in 2024.
