Retrospective planning permission is being sought for the change of use from commercial to residential accommodation on the top two floors in Market Place, Hexham. The application for 25-26 Market Place has been submitted by Susan Crozier, of Bankfoot Farm, Broomley, nearly Stocksfield. The application stated that the space had previously been used for commercial office space but had not been in use for more than 10 years. Work on the site, which began in September, was needed to be done to update the building and keep it in line with current regulations for fire and safety and electricals, it was claimed.
