Surging COVID-19 infection rates in Ontario are having a spillover effect on Headwaters Health Care Centre.
President and CEO, Kim Delahunt penned a letter to the community noting the hospital took in five of seven expected COVID-19 patient transfers this week, the hospital’s highest patient transfer yet.
Delahunt says some Ontario hospitals have been so maxed out with COVID patients that they’ve had to treat them in cafeterias and hallways.
And while Headwaters Hospital isn’t dealing with that situation, Delahunt says it could be a possibility.
That’s why she’s asking residents to get their COVID shots when it’s their turn and continuing to get tested after experiencing any symptoms.
