Once again, the community has come together to help support Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) in funding necessary equipment.
The Orangeville-based organization, the Morningview Foundation, is set to match all donations made by the community, up to a whopping amount of $200,000.
Beginning on November 1, 2020 and continuing through December 31, donations reached over $200,000.
With over $400,000 raised through the community and the matched donation by the Morningview Foundations, HHCC was able to purchase a brand-new mammography machine that is equipped with 3D printing to help support breast cancer patients.
This new machine provides more accurate results and screening for dense breasts, seeks earlier detection of breast cancer in those who have symptoms and those without.

Each year at Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC), an average of 14,000 residents seek medical assistance due to cardiac concerns at the hospital.
For the second year in a row, Headwaters is hosting the Have a Heart for Headwaters Initiative to raise funds to help cardiac care at the hospital.
“We need the tools and equipment to stabilize these patients before they are either transferred to a partnering hospital for specialized care or being discharged home,” said Kendra Mantler, Coordinator, Community and Corporate Engagement, at Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
Unfortunately, the hospital doesn’t receive government funding to be able to purchase the necessary equipment needed, hence the need of community support coming into play.

Devonleigh Homes is once again showing their support for the Headwaters Health Care Foundation with a generous donation.
The company, and president Andrew Kidd, have made significant donations to the foundation in order to ensure proper health care for residents and making life a little bit easier for those at Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC).
In October 2019, Kidd and Devonleigh Homes donated a whopping $60,000 to help reconstruct the helipad at the hospital and the Intensive Care Ramp.
The helipad is a vital service for HHCC to be able to transport critical patients where they need to go, including from Sick Kids Hospital, and trauma patients.

Devonleigh Homes is supporting Headwaters Health Care Foundation once again with another sizable donation.
The $74,000 donation will be used to purchase an Obstetrical Radiant Warmer that will provide care for the approximately 900 babies that are born here every year.
Devonleigh Homes President Andrew Kidd says it’s a privilege to be able to support urgent needs that Headwaters has, as they’re fortunate to have such incredible local health care in their region.
