Headwaters Health Care Centre is among hospitals who are ramping down all elective surgeries.
Ontario Health made the request in response to a surge of COVID-19 cases as the third wave sweeps the province.
Patients that have upcoming surgeries and appointments at Headwaters will be contacted by their surgeons’ offices or the hospital, if their surgery, or procedure is cancelled.
Patients that have not received a phone call, should proceed to the hospital as scheduled.
On March 19th 2020, HHCC ramped down elective surgeries to respond to growing COVID-19 infection rates at that time, and resumed the services in June 2020.

The Dufferin-Caledon Ontario Health Team has introduced a Transformation Lead to the Hills of Headwaters Collaborative Ontario Health Team.
Established in 2019, the Hills of Headwaters Collaborative was one of the first of its fellow 24 Ontario Health Teams across Ontario dedicated to enhancing the delivery of health care through new models. Ontario currently has 42 health teams covering 86 per cent of the population.
A Transformation Lead creates and implements “organizational framework” in order to improve the treatment and care for patients and providers with models that are said to be more patient-centered and efficient.

Once again, the community has come together to help support Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) in funding necessary equipment.
The Orangeville-based organization, the Morningview Foundation, is set to match all donations made by the community, up to a whopping amount of $200,000.
Beginning on November 1, 2020 and continuing through December 31, donations reached over $200,000.
With over $400,000 raised through the community and the matched donation by the Morningview Foundations, HHCC was able to purchase a brand-new mammography machine that is equipped with 3D printing to help support breast cancer patients.
This new machine provides more accurate results and screening for dense breasts, seeks earlier detection of breast cancer in those who have symptoms and those without.
