For the fifth consecutive day, Hendrick Health is reporting Trauma Service Area D hospitals, which includes Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood, has lower than a 15 percent COVID hospitalization rate among its total capacity rate.
Restrictions – such as bar closures and reduced restaurant capacity – will be lifted if the area is below a 15% COVID hospital capacity for seven straight days, which would be Wednesday if the current trend continues.
On Monday, Hendrick Health reported 12.04% of the people hospitalized in Trauma Service Area D are hospitalized for COVID-19, including just nine people at Hendrick Medical Center-Brownwood. Trauma Service Area D includes Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Fisher, Haskell, Jones, Knox, Mitchell, Nolan, Shackleford, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor and Throckmorton counties.
The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood are partnering to host a closed drive-thru COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Wednesday, February 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic is listed as “closed” in order to better serve qualifying individuals who have previously signed up on the Health Department’s vaccination contact list. The clinic is in response to a large-scale shipment of 600 vaccine doses supplied to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. As additional vaccine shipments arrive in the future, the Health Department and Hendrick Brownwood expect to coordinate more large-scale vaccination events.
The closed drive-thru clinic scheduled for Wednesday will focus on vaccinating remaining qualifying health care workers in the “1A Phase,” as well as individuals over the age of 65 years old with specific pre-existing health conditions as outlined by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
