But, a petition calling for the groupâs dissolution never reached a vote when aired at a recent Select Board meeting. Instead, the boardâs chairman, Robert W. Bishop Jr., got colleagues to agree to let him conduct a hurry-up inquiry into why eight of the townâs top employees believe that the Green Dalton Committee should be unplugged.

On Thursday, a congressional investigation revealed it had found that a number of widely sold baby food brands are tainted with dangerous levels of toxic heavy metals, including arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury.
The investigation, led by Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), chair of the House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, highlights major failures within the Food and Drug Administration.

Young award-winning photographer showcases talents on the web

A young photographer who recently won credit in a national competition is showcasing his talents after setting up his own website.
Henry Rose, 12, of Caythorpe, won a runner-up prize for his close-up picture of two giraffes in the competition run by the RSPCA.
Henry said: I love taking pictures of nature from around my local village.My favourite subject is nature and wildlife.I am very proud to have been the runner-up in the RSPCA Young Photographer of the Year competition 2020, in the Under 12 category.

This week, President Joe Biden was sworn into office, which allows a brand-new opportunity to set safeguards to protect children from toxic pesticides. EWG broke down 11 pesticides and classes of pesticides whose use the new administration should target.
On Tuesday, the Environmental Protection Agency announced it would take preliminary actions to regulate the toxic “forever chemicals” known as PFAS in drinking water. The agency made a final determination to set drinking water limits for PFOA, a PFAS compound once used to make Teflon, and PFOS, a chemical that used to be an ingredient in Scotchgard – which is the first step in the long process of regulation.
