BREAKING: €230,000 worth of drugs found after car stopped in Castletroy

Limerick s Live 95 Search By Live95 News Team Gardaí have arrested a man and seized €230,000 of suspected cannabis herb in Limerick city. Shortly before 12.30am this morning, Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a car in the Castletroy area of Limerick. During the course of the search Gardaí seized €200,000 of suspected cannabis herb. The driver, a man in his 60s, was arrested at the scene and was brought to Henry Street Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. As part of the investigation, Gardaí carried out a number of follow-up searches in Limerick city. During the course of one search at a house on Hyde Road, Gardaí seized a further €30,000 of suspected cannabis herb. No further arrests were made following these searches.

Man charged following house fire and serious assault in Limerick Reporter: );   ); A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault incident and a fire at a house in Limerick city earlier this week. The alarm was raised at around 4.20am on Tuesday, after a fire was reported in the Garryowen area. Emergency services attended the scene and the fire was brought under control a short time later by members of Limerick Fire and Rescue. A woman, aged in her 40s, was discovered at the same location with injuries and has been taken to University Hospital Limerick where her condition is described as serious, said a garda spokesperson.

Limerick man blackmailed after he is caught out by romance fraud

The man, who is in his twenties and living the Roxboro area, reported to gardai that he accepted a friend request from an unknown female on Facebook.   After a number of messages back and forth, the young man forwarded a compromising image of himself to this woman s account. Immediately the woman that she would circulate his image on social media if he did not forward money to an account and she provided details.  

Man arrested in connection with Limerick school burglary

Limerick s Live 95 Search By Live95 News Team Live95 picture library A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at a Limerick city school on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3rd, 2021. Gardaí received a report on Tuesday morning, May 4th, that attempts had been made to break into several doors of a school in Thomondgate and that a shed had been broken into. Gardaí from Henry Street and the local Scenes of Crime Unit attended the scene and began investigating.   As a result, a man was arrested in Limerick city yesteday, May 6th. The man, aged in his 20s, was brought to Henry Street Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
