Gardaí arrest and charge man in relation to burglary at Limerick school

GARDAI have arrested and charged a man in relation to a burglary at a school in Thomondgate on Monday last.
On Tuesday morning, gardaí received a report that attempts had been made to break into several doors of the school and that a shed had been broken into.
Gardaí from Henry Street and the local Scenes of Crime Unit attended the scene and began investigating. As a result, a man was arrested in Limerick city on Thursday.
The man, aged in his 20s, was brought to Henry Street Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The incident happened on Tuesday of last week, April 20th.
A cyclists was travelling along the Rossbrien Road between 12pm and 1pm in the afternoon when they were knocked from their bicycle by a motorist.
Fortunately the cyclist was not injured in the incident, but the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
A garda spokesperson says they don t have a detailed description of the vehicle: The only description of the car that we have, is that it was a ‘black car’ and that it was last seen going in the direction of Old Crescent Rugby Club on the Rossbrien road.

It followed a largescale garda operation targeting a street party in the College Court estate in the Castletroy area of the city in early March. The area is a popular place for students to rent accommodation due to its proximity to the campus.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK have arrested a man after intervening in a stab attack in the city last evening.
It happened at a property in the Ellen Street area shortly after 5pm.
Gardaí responded to reports of a violent disturbance. According to sources they saw two men, one of whom was armed with a knife.
A source said: “The uniformed and detective gardaí arrived as this was happening and saw the suspect stabbing the victim.
