Herts Police mark International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

Police have been flying a rainbow flag to mark International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia The flag was flying high at Hatfield Police Station today on Monday 17 May as the Constabulary joined forces with local partners to recognise the day. The annual event was created in 2004 to draw the attention of policy makers, opinion leaders, social movements, the public and the media to the violence and discrimination experienced by the LGBT+ community worldwide.

Police tape off Market Street in Watford town centre

A man was stabbed in Watford town centre last night. Police were called to Market Street in Watford at around 9.30pm (May 18) and a section of pavement in the shopping street was taped off. Pictures taken from a property in Market Street at 9.45pm show three police cars along with an ambulance. Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed one man suffered stab wounds and he was taken to hospital. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing. A 35-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in police custody. The section of road which was taped off is between the junctions of Percy Road and Francis Road.
