Hertfordshire officer sent sexual message to teen on Snapchat

A Hertfordshire police officer sent an inappropriate sexual message to a teenager on Snapchat after she was dismissed as a suspect in a case he was investigating, a misconduct hearing heard. PC Mohamed Huzair was found to have “seriously breached the trust placed in him” after meeting the 18-year-old woman when he was looking into a car theft last year. Huzair dealt with her as a suspect, although matters were later dropped. But Huzair continued inappropriate sexual contact with the teenager through Snapchat on his personal phone, the hearing was told. He had also met up with her whilst on duty as a police officer for a non-policing purpose.

Watford residents targeted in new HMRC scam | St Albans & Harpenden Review

Fraudsters have been trying to con people in and around Watford out of money with scam phone calls and texts appearing to be from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).  Seven victims in Borehamwood, Watford and Hemel Hempstead have been contacted by the scammers claiming to be the HMRC over the last few weeks. The victims were told there were outstanding debts or unpaid taxes in their names. The fraudsters then asked the victims to make bank transfers as payment.  One victim lost £1,400. The fraudsters cold call victims using a spoofed number that appears to be a genuine Hertfordshire Constabulary phone number, sometimes leaving voicemail messages claiming that the victim owes unpaid tax to HMRC.
