Sussex child psychologist among experts calling for children to be allowed to play to help them recover from the pandemic YOUNGSTERS should be able to play with their friends this summer to aid their mental health, child psychologists have said. PlayFirstUK, a group of experts in child development, have written to Education Secretary Gavin Williamson calling for plans to reopen schools and ease lockdown restrictions to prioritise the social and emotional wellbeing of pupils. The group, which includes 15 child psychologists and education specialists, said children in England should be exempt from the rule of two as soon as it is safe to do so.
