HELENA â Lewis & Clark County hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Monday with the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Healthcare professionals administered 500 doses of the single-dose vaccine, which staff say is beneficial since those vaccinated wonât need to come back like those that received the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
âItâs great to have a third vaccine available,â said Clinic Medical Monitor and retired Infectious Disease Specialist Don Skillman, MD. âItâs one more option that we can give people and this one is a one shot and done. We know that two weeks after this theyâre quite well protected from the coronavirus.â

HELENA â Strong wind wreaked havoc in the Helena Valley on Wednesday, knocking out power, damaging homes and uprooting landmarks.
Power Lines were damaged and knocked down throughout the day, taking out power in the area for thousands and causing issues with traffic lights in downtown Helena and by Fort Harrison.
In East Helena a family no longer has a roof to their home as wind gusts tore off the material down to the sub roof and scattering material across Lane Avenue.

At around 11:00 a.m. the renter of the home was taking a shower and heard the sound of the roof coming off. He initially thought the family dog may have knocked over the TV or other furniture.
