Trussville City schools going to the dogs: Meet Skye, Bullet and Atom

From The Tribune staff reports TRUSSVILLE If a dog is a man’s best friend, there are three very special new members of Trussville City Schools. Skye, Bullet and Atom are trained facility dogs now roaming the halls of Hewitt-Trussville High School and Hewitt-Trussville Middle School. TCS and Service Dogs Alabama (SDA) teamed up to make the new additions possible. The facility dogs were approved before the coronavirus pandemic, but we are sure they will help ease the daily stresses of students and teachers while facing unique challenges. The three dogs completed training and are Certified Facility Dogs. Bullet and Skye

By Baylee Lowery, Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Today’s world is not the beautiful earth we have all known and loved. Today’s world has affected us all in new and unprecedented ways. In previous years, we all said, “2020 the year of tomorrow! I bet we will have flying cars then! Maybe even a portable telephone!” It was the year to look forward to and the year of new beginnings. We, as a whole, have let down everyone before us. We are the future in their eyes and have been too focused on ourselves. We should be focused on our sons and daughters… the people of tomorrow, OUR future.
