Very Rare 75 Ford Escort Mk I RS2000 Found Under Pile of Garbage Could Be Yours

autoevolution 5 May 2021, 14:00 UTC · by 8 photos The Ford Escort was a very popular car in Europe and especially in the United Kingdom. It was an affordable family car, but it could also serve for racing, where it recorded several impressive achievements. Of the four million of Escorts produced over all generations, perhaps the RS2000 is the most coveted today. It is estimated that some 5,300 units of the Escort Mark I RS2000 were made, of which only 3,700 were for the UK market, where demand continued to be outstanding even after production was discontinued. Today, you can still find RS2000s on the market, but you rarely come across one that is completely original and unrestored.

This, combined with certain colours being more popular than others in various decades, can provide some interesting colours. “There again, there are some cars you expect to see a certain colour such as a red Ferrari, although they were also supplied new in a broad range of other colours including yellow, blue, silver and white.” Green cars in this specialist classic and vintage car auction include the large, the small, and just about everything in between. If a Bentley is your carriage of choice, there are two being sold from a collector who is retiring from driving. Both are painted in Balmoral green with a 1997 Bentley Continental R estimated at £25,000-£30,000 and a 1989 Bentley Turbo R for £10,000-£12,000.
