The superfast Rajdhani Express was halted for around 25 minutes to rescue a crocodile which was run over by a speeding train in the Vadodara district of Gujarat.
Asoj villagers rescued 11-foot-long crocodile on Saturday
VADODARA: An 11-foot-long crocodile was rescued by volunteers from the Asoj village near the city on Saturday morning. The crocodile was spotted while work was being conducted on a storm water drain.
The crocodile was spotted by local residents at the construction site and rescue expert Hemant Vadhwana was informed regarding it. Vadhwana and officials of the forest department rushed to the spot to rescue the crocodile.
It came to light that the crocodile was trapped inside the pipe of the storm water drain and also had injury on its snout. The pipe was broken and opened with the help of a backhoe loader taking care that the crocodile was not injured.
