Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 3 (ANI): In the last 20 days, Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited has delivered more than 60,000 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) to government and private hospitals in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and other states.

New Delhi: At a time, when southern state Tamil Nadu is dealing with over 3 lakh active COVID-19 cases, infrastructure and real estate firms are aiding the state government in ramping up temporary beds and medical equipment across the state. As a part of this effort, Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) is setting up beds in hospitals that already have oxygen facilities.
Last week, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated 500 scalable oxygenated bed facilities at Thoppur Government Hospital in Madurai. The hospital will provide free-of-cost oxygen beds to the patients. According to MEIL, they could complete the entire work of setting up a 500-bed facility in a record time of 72 hours with the active contribution of Credai and G Square Realtors.
Vedanta, Meil, Great Eastern, others vie for Shipping Corp
Vedanta Resources Ltd, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd (Meil), and Great Eastern Shipping have submitted expressions of interest (EoIs) for buying out the government’s 63.75% stake in Shipping Corp. of India (SCI), said two people aware of the development.
US-based Safesea Group and a consortium of Foresight Offshore Drilling Ltd SA, Belgium-based Exmar NV and Dubai-based GMS DMCC have also submitted EoIs for buying SCI, the people said, requesting anonymity.
“This (EoI) will be followed by a shortlisting of qualified interested parties, post which RFP (request for proposal) and draft definitive agreements will be shared through a data room created for this purpose. US-based fund also backs Megha Engg for Shipping Corp bid
US-based Interups Inc is close to signing an agreement to buy a majority stake in Trujet a scheduled regional carrier holding a scheduled commuter operator permit from Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd, multiple sources said.
The New York-based fund, led by Indian-born Laxmi Prasad, has also backed Megha Engineering & Infrastructures, which had submitted an expression of interest (EoI) for the privatisation of state-run carrier Shipping Corporation of India Ltd on Monday.
