AFP/File PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s plan to auction 155 megawatts of electricity to industrial units under the wheeling regime has hit a roadblock as two power distribution companies have got a stay order from the court of law against the Nepra’s decision on wheeling charges. Wheeling is the export of power from generation source to another entity through transmission system of distribution companies, while the fee paid for the use of transmission system is called wheeling charges. In power wheeling, generation companies use the National Transmission and Dispatch Company’s (NDTC’s) transmission system for high voltage electricity and that of distribution companies for low-voltage power supply.

Not answerable to PM or any minister: Murad

Top Story January 26, 2021 KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday that he was not answerable to prime minister or any minister but to the provincial assembly. He said that the chief minister was not answerable to any person, including to the prime minister except to the provincial assembly. “My answer may not be taken as negative but as a matter of fact that the chief minister is only answerable to the provincial assembly,” he said. He said while talking to the media just after inaugurating Diagnostic Complex and Dow Institute of Life Sciences at Ojha Campus.
