Honda Cars India registers 9,072 unit sales in India in April 2021

Japanese car manufacturer, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) registered 9,072 domestic unit sales in the country in April 2021. Car sales have once again been affected with certain states either announcing a lockdown or restricting pubic movement due to the second wave of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. Back in April 2020, there was no sale for all car manufacturers as the government had announced a complete lockdown in the country.
In terms of exports, HCIL exported 970 units from its facility in the country last month. The replacement will be carried out free of cost in a phased manner starting April 17. Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Friday said it has expanded its campaign to voluntarily replace the fuel pump in 77,954 units of its select models in India.
The fuel pumps installed in these vehicles may contain defective impellers, which couldresult in the engine stopping or not starting over time.
The models include 36,086 units of Amaze manufactured between January and August 2019 and 20,248 units of the fourth-generation City (January-September 2019). Other models, including WR-V, Civic, Jazz, BRV and CRV, are also impacted, for which the company will replace the faulty part.

Honda has issued a massive recall for its cars in India. The voluntary campaign, which will start tomorrow, affects as many as 77,954 units of several Honda car models in the country. The Japanese automaker s Indian subsidiary noted that this recall is to replace the fuel pump in the affected models. In total, seven Honda cars retailed in India are affected by this campaign. The automaker noted that starting tomorrow, it will start contacting owners of affected vehicles individually and guided to get in touch with a Honda dealership in their vicinity for the corrective action.
