Missing Hopedale man s body found in pond Times-Reporter staff report HOPEDALE  The body of a missing Hopedale man has been found in a fishing pond. Harrison County Sheriff Joe Myers says the body of 53-year-old Danny Rensi was found at around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, according to Rich Pierce of WTOV-TV9, a news-partner of The Times-Reporter. No foul play is suspected and a toxicology test is pending. Rensi was last seen Saturday at the American Legion in Hopedale. A caretaker for the Sportsman s Club found him. Hopedale Fire Department assisted in the recovery. The family has been notified.

Apr 17, 2021 HOPEDALE The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 9 p.m. on Harrison County Road 5 near Township Road 59 in Green Township. According to OSHP reports, Michael G. Tolar, 33, was operating a silver 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan eastbound on Harrison County Road 5 when attempting to follow a left curve of the roadway. The vehicle drove off the right edge of the road and struck a guardrail causing it to overturn down an embankment. As the vehicle rolled, Tolar was ejected, causing fatal injuries. An unknown female passenger in the vehicle was initially transported to Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia and subsequently life flighted to Allegheny General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The female passenger’s condition is unknown at this time.

CADIZ The Hopedale fire chief responded to a “Harrison County Taxpayer’s” letter that details complaints regarding the recently approved Silver Spade Joint Ambulance District’s levy. On Thursday evening, Fire Chief Mark Marchetta provided Cadiz Village Council with an update about the levy. He also spoke about a letter he received last month from an anonymous resident. The letter writer stated they were unhappy with the district providing ambulance services to villages and townships that are not included in the new levy that was passed by county voters in November. The 2.25-mill levy is paid for by communities including Cadiz Township, Green Township, the village of Cadiz and the village of Hopedale.

CLAIRSVILLE The Ebbert Farm Market once again hosted a U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots distribution for the Ohio Oil &Gas Association during their stop in Belmont County. The association is providing Christmas gifts for children in Eastern Ohio throughout the week. Mike Chadsey, director of public relations for the Ohio Oil & Gas Association, thanked the Ebberts for the use of their property once again. “It’s a great site. It’s centrally-located, really friendly and easy to work with. The folks have done it before, so it makes it easy for folks coming by,” he said.
