Moms, grandmas, and their grateful offspring gathered on Sunday at Prima Pasta & Café on Cross Bay Boulevard for the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic’s “Muffins with Mom” event. HB Moms, Mia Bella Salon, and Perfect Match Nails provided the raffle prizes. “It was so heartwarming to watch all the children make special gifts for the number one lady in their lives while learning how to give back to their community by participating in the civic’s suggestion to donate baby items, such as clothing, diapers, wipes, etc. for the local family shelters,” said civic President Joann Ariola. On #SuperheroSaturday, the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic took to Facebook to spotlight the efforts of Alison Jasiak of the PS 207 community: “Alison Jasiak (c.) has been a member of the PTA of PS 207 for the past 10 years. Once her son Gregory became a student at the school she immediately became involved in all fundraising activities. She brought a very successful book sale to the school and worked tirelessly coming up with new and fun ideas for the students and staff. For the past five years she has served as the PTA co-president and president and as a member of the school Leadership Team, volunteering countless hours both in the school and at home to make the PTA fundraising campaigns a success and most importantly making the school feel like a family. Alison had continued on as PTA president even though her son Gregory had graduated last June during the COVID pandemic. She continued to push fun, virtual activities through the PTA Facebook page. Civic s Caravan of Christmas Cheer Collects Toys, Raises Funds for Less Fortunate

Cusenza Another year, another successful holiday toy and fundraising drive for the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic. According to the civic, “The winner for best car for our Caravan of Christmas Cheer goes to Kim Marie! Not only did the family decorate the car nicely but they were full of cheer themselves! Congratulations!!!!!” While 2020 has been a collection of 12 months like no other in recent memory, Saturday’s Caravan of Christmas Cheer also saw amazing levels of local volunteerism and donating. On Tuesday, The civic visited the Our Lady of Grace Ministry of Care and Service group to bring a donation check in the amount of $465 from the Caravan of Christmas Cheer, along with some toys for them to give out to the families they service. “These ladies work tirelessly throughout the year to make sure the food pantry is well stocked and they have everything they need to provide
