Muttahida Ulema Board endorses PM’s statement on ‘Hijab’

LAHORE: The Muttahida Ulema Board, Punjab, and leaderships of different religious and political organisations have endorsed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement on ‘Hijab’ and women s clothing, saying the views are in accordance with the teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
The Ulema-Mashaikh of different religious groups and sects agreed upon that the teachings of Islam forbid both men and women from indecency and nudity by debarring them to use inappropriate cloaks or outfits. LAHORE: The Muttahida Ulema Board, with the assistance of leadership of all religions, will launch an awareness campaign on blasphemy laws.
Misuse of blasphemy laws is being contained as during the last seven months not a single FIR has been registered illegally and instances of forced conversions and forced marriages are declining, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, Muttahida Ulema Board and Special Aide to Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East.
Addressing a press conference, along with leadership of different religious schools of thought, here on Sunday, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said the Muttahida Ulema Board is playing a very positive role to eradicate the menace of extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence. Archbishop Sebastian Shaw of Lahore has joined the leaders of different faiths to welcome the Israel-Hamas ceasefire as he expressed solidarity with Palestine.
“Finally, God has answered our prayers. Inshallah [if Allah wills] we shall continue this struggle. Many Palestinian Christians have embraced martyrdom with our Muslim brothers. We condemn violence by Israel and urge peace so that the locals can live with dignity,” said the archbishop.
