Police have made an arrest in connection with multiple Wilmington bank robberies.
The Wilmington Police Department charged Elijah Muhammad McFarland, 37, on Thursday with two counts of armed robbery, according to a Thursday news release.
Police were dispatched to the Wells Fargo located at 590 S. College Road around 10:53 a.m. Thursday after McFarland allegedly approached a teller and passed a note demanding money, the release said. No weapon was shown.
The teller then handed over the cash, and McFarland allegedly left in a red Lincoln sedan. Someone got the vehicle tag and was able to provide it to police, the release said.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A 14-year-old girl who was last seen at Holly Shelter Middle School at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 has been reported missing.
Kayleigh Liederbach is 5â²7â³ tall, medium build and weighs 135lbs. She has long, brown hair and brown eyes.
Kayleigh was last seen wearing black canvas shoes and possibly jeans.
