Radar check at 9:50 pm shows some scattered light to moderate shower activity mainly over the northern parts of the area and down across the south and southeastern parts of North/Central Alabama. Some heavier rainfall was moving across the western parts of the area, mainly over the central parts of Pickens County. Very little thunder is occurring with these heavier cells and all the activity is moving to the northeast.
Winds have been relatively calmer than expected at this point, but some locations have seen gusts up to 20-25 MPH. Those winds are expected to continue to get stronger later tonight and through the overnight hours as the cold front gets closer.
