AGAPE Farm & Foster's purpose is two fold..

The first purpose of the farm is a place for me to practice Reiki and be available to provide that service for pets and wildlife..

The second and biggest purpose of the farm are dogs.
Dogs that are in danger of being euthanized because the shelters are overcrowded.
Mastiff breeds are close to my heart thanks to my own, Maximus.
But, the sad part of that is people love puppies but then the puppy grows into a DOG.
When we don't spay/neuter (and think breeding is the only answer to getting a dog), we create a huge crisis of irresponsibility that spills over to our pets..

Adding to the difficulty of placing/adopting large, extra-large and giant breeds in general is the fact that people have an aversion to "senior" aged dogs.
For some of these breeds, "senior" can be considered five years old.
FIVE! I want to be able to help the rescues take senior mastiffs on the farm so they have a place to be awaiting their fur-ever home and allow the volunteer fosters use their homes for dogs that are considered "more adoptable." .

As much as I love the Mastiff breeds, I have come to know that pit bull type/bully breed dogs are my reason for living.
These bully breeds include but are not limited to- the American Bully, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and bully breeds in general.
The fight against BSL-Breed Specific Legislation- is discrimination at it's finest.
It disgusts me how many dogs are available for adoption in rescue/shelters, because of the shape of their head.
People are not able to adopt/rescue these types of dogs because they are the number breed type on ANY Restricted Breed List for apartments.
The number of pit bull types killed each year alone is overwhelming so if you cannot afford to purchase property and must rent and own a pit bull type dog-you either give it up to live in a dwelling or you become homeless..
