John MacDonald, master timber framer, operates Algonquin Timber Frames in Deep River, Ontario.
John’s lifetime career has been timber framing, building his first in 1975.
He has built frames throughout Canada but returned to the Ottawa Valley in 2005.
John's people passion has him directly involved in the design and building of all his structures..

We build timber frames used in new homes and additions, as well as feature rooms, porches, gazebos, garages, timber stairs and railings, and any other project a homeowner can envision.
We make use of traditional joinery and pegs, all made in the Deep River shop.
We work almost exclusively with local eastern white pine, as it is easy to work with and stands the test of time.
