Detailed description is I have always loved to draw and paint and create.
I especially enjoyed the very large canvas of the walls in the house where I grew up.
I think that my parents did not enjoy my artwork forays at this point in my life! .

In addition to being an artist, I am also a special education teacher and a licensed social worker.
I am lucky to have a wide variety of duties in my work.
Some of the work is with very young children (birth to five years) and their families.
I also work with children of all ages with a variety of behavioral challenges and disabilities.
Work with children who are adopted is especially close to my heart.
Whenever possible, I incorporate artwork into the therapy sessions.

As creating artwork has been a thread that has run throughout my life, sharing this love has always been a goal of mine.
When I was going to college for special education, I kept taking art classes.
Finally all I had to do was take a few art history classes to complete a major in studio art so I did that.
This, when coupled with the education classes plus one class titled “Teaching Art in the Elementary School” allowed me to obtain my certification as an art teacher.
