In September 2014 I visited Care for Wild Africa.
I had the extraordinary experience of working directly with baby rhinos orphaned by poaching.
To put a bottle in a baby rhino’s mouth, to soothe them when they are crying, to see them transform from traumatized little creatures, to happy and frisky once more was life changing.
When I left the sanctuary I knew I had to do something….
How could I just continue as usual, while this extraordinary, emotional, sweet creature was being poached to extinction? I knew that others felt as saddened as I was.
It was clear to me: if we work together we can achieve extraordinary things.
I was determined to create a place where people could offer their talent, their energy, their resources for an incredible cause.
This is our earth, and the rhino has been here for 50 million years! We have to keep them here.
Extinction is not an option!.
