Bernoulli Small Batch Ice Cream began as a pact between two ice cream fanatics.
In 1982, nearly 5,000 miles away from home, Brian and Allysan met for the first time at a Bad Durkheim Weinfest in Germany.
Brian was working with Air Force Intelligence and Allysan taught music to military children.
After discovering they shared the same hometown, worked on the same base, and had a mutual addiction to ice cream, the fireworks went off.
Brian and Allysan fell in love and made a pact to start their own ice cream brand someday..

Their journey embraced several career moves and ice cream discoveries.
Together, they studied ice cream production at the University of Maryland where they tasted new flavors and studied brand name products.
When that didn’t work out, their ice cream dreams settled on the back shelf, like many dreams do, behind real life.
Over the years, after settling in Kentucky in 1989, Brian and Allysan raised their family while Brian worked as CFO for his family-owned company and Allysan worked as a substitute teacher, school, and 4H youth volunteer.
They both continued to make time for ice cream tasting and cultivate their expertise..

Then, luckily, in 2014, their daughter-in-law received an ice cream maker as a wedding gift and had no idea what to do with it.
