Detailed description is This 501(c)3 organization began in 1994, obtained its permanent non-profit status from the IRS to operate as a historical society.
Today, it has two sites We are a 501(c)3 organization, involved in our community by sponsoring tours of our Plank Road Museum and Drake Memorial House located along M46 between St.
Louis and Saginaw Michigan.
The Plank Road Museum is the former Pilgrim Holiness Church but was the first church building built for the Baptist denomination in 1888.
The building has been re-invented and now serves the area by maintaining the history of people and events since Wheeler Townships formation in 1861 through artifacts and displays of the area.
We also have a research library started and continue to add to it weekly.
The Drake Memorial House features what a country doctors home was like at the turn of the century.
This site has a outdoor garden, a carriage barn, and doctor's office building.
