Block Watch is a program which consists of neighbors looking out for neighbors and maintaining open lines of communication within their blocks..
Participants are educated on what suspicious activities/persons are and how to properly report them to the police and how to be an “extra set” of eyes and ears for the police..

There are 3 phases to the education process in the BW Program: .
1) Gaining neighborhood cooperation and participation through recruitment.
2) Training both the neighborhood Captains & Co-Captains and participants.
3) Certification and installation of signage.

The Block Watch Program includes teaching residents how to better secure their homes, inside and outside property, and vehicles using the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) model..
