Along with participating in festival celebrations in South Australia, the Chinese Art School of SA also is providing a strong backup to support the Chinese communities to promote Chinese language and culture.
The school was initially set up to provide cultural education for the students of the Chinese Language School of Chinese Welfare Services of SA Inc.
The students in the Art School are often invited by the Chinese Language School to attend their events and functions, such as performing Chinese dances and poem recitals on Children’s Day.
As a vibrant visual display of Chinese culture, the Art School is often invited to participate in functions by other community groups, such as Chinatown Adelaide South Australia Inc, South Australian Chinese Adoption Support Inc, Chinese Chamber of Commerce South Australia, the City of West Torrens Council and the City of Burnside Council..
Most importantly, the Chinese Art School of SA is focusing on letting more Australian students with a western culture background to learn about Chinese culture through learning Chinese language, Chinese traditional dance and Chinese calligraphy.
The founder of Chinese Art School of SA, Ms Jie Zhu, who is a qualified Chinese teacher and also a community member of Chinese Welfare Services of SA Inc, is devoted to teaching Chinese language and Chinese traditional dance to Australian students to improve Australian students’ comprehension of China.
She has presented her dancing and shared her culture with the students of Christen Brothers College, Trinity College Blakeview, St Joseph Primary School Payneham, Norwood Morialta High School and Magill Primary.
