It’s the next big thing!.
A word about the inventor of the Clone, Ron Latschaw: .
You might recognize his name; he’s not new to the waterfowl industry, he also invented the above-ground layout blind.
Founder of Final Approach™ , Ron revolutionized waterfowl hunting.
No longer was it necessary to get to the X at 2 am to dig a pit in the mud or frozen ground.
His layout blinds allowed hunter’s to set up fast, right where they wanted…and no digging! Camo up the blinds, set your spread and you were hunting! .
Ron’s vast waterfowl hunting and guiding experiences and passion for the sport continue to contribute to his creations of innovative products for hunters, yesterday and today!.
.
In Ron’s words….
.
“My first memory of waterfowl was at the age of 14 on my uncle's dairy farm in Platteville, Colorado.
Late one December afternoon I heard, then observed, a group of 12 large Canada Geese that were cautiously circling and investigating our cornfield before finally touching down to feed.
This went on each evening for six or seven days.
That incredible experience got me interested in the sport of waterfowl hunting..
Back then I didn't understand why the same group of geese would cautiously continue to circle the same cornfield they had already been comfortably feeding in each evening.
Over the next 5 years I became obsessed with waterfowl hunting.
And I spent the next 26 years guiding Goose and Duck hunts in eastern Washington's Columbia Basin.
Sometime around the 21st season I created the prototype of my first low profile layout blind that I called The Slider™.
Back then I hunted 2 two-man Slider™ blinds with unbelievable results! Concealment became my extra edge! .
Slider™ blinds opened up a new way of concealment for hunters without the drudgery of digging holes.
The portability and versatility couldn’t be matched by any other blind I had seen or used in the past..
I decided to refine and manufacture Slider™ blinds for sale.
They were designed of all tig-welded aluminum with camouflage fabric covers, but unfortunately they were very expensive to build.
The Slider™ blinds started catching on, but hunters still couldn’t get past the price tag which was $689.95 per unit.
I knew I needed to make a less expensive, but equally effective layout blind..
Within days I came up with the idea and drawings for the new generation blind...
and called it the Eliminator™.
The name to me meant this blind eliminated the work of digging pits, eliminated nasty dirt getting in your eyes, down the back of your neck and jamming your shotgun.
It also helped protect you from the wind, the cold and wet weather.
Most of all it eliminated the constant question: "What are we going to do to conceal ourselves on this hunt?".
Being mobile and well concealed was becoming much more important to successfully hunt waterfowl, especially in the open fields where they came to feed..
The Eliminator™ was extremely well received by waterfowl hunters.
All my hard work was paying off! The promotion of the original Slider™ blind opened many eyes, but the Eliminator™ was what hunters were waiting for! As a result, Final Approach™ really took off and I ended up selling the company in September 2001.”.
Since then, Ron has been enjoying hunting, as often as possible, with his friends all over the U.S.
and Canada.
An inventor at heart, Ron’s mind never stops thinking of new products or ways to improve the hunting experience.
He holds a number of patents for blinds and other hunting accessories and he has manufactured products for hunters and their dogs for big game, turkey and waterfowl hunters alike.

Ron Latschaw is dedicated to continually creating new, innovative, quality products for the hunting world..
