is a nonprofit organization that provides multicultural empowerment and leadership programs for diverse girls in the Silver Spring, Maryland community..

Founded in 1997 as a youth development organization committed to meeting the needs of underserved low-income and immigrant youth in the Long Branch community of East Silver Spring, in 1998 CB launched Jump Start Girls! Adelante Niñas!, a leadership and empowerment program for girls.
This program was created in response to the needs expressed by the schools in meeting the needs of low-income adolescent girls in middle school.
CB has added Glow!Young Women Lead the Way for high school girls and our Family Institute.
In the 2016-2017 school year, CB’s programs served approximately 225 girls and families at 9 schools through after school programs and events.
Since its founding, CB has helped empower over 3,000 girls in Montgomery County.
In developing this program, the target population shifted to girls shaping our mission into empowering diverse girls to become exceptional students, positive leaders and healthy young women.
