Detailed description is Community site for those interested in image-based research intersecting chemical, molecular, cellular, organismal, anthropological, and engineering disciplines.
CI3V is the result of a cross-institutional partnership between the Institute for Cyberscience and Penn State Hershey’s Department of Pathology, the Jake Gittlen Laboratories for Cancer Research, and the Vice President for Research at the College of Medicine.
It is made up of a model community of faculty and staff linked by shared HPC resources, computer storage, software, algorithms, and collaborative projects, and who participate in a virtual image informatics (image processing) and visualization group.
CI3V will enable big data analysis and simulations to increase the competitiveness of large, collaborative, and interdisciplinary proposals to external funding agencies from combinations of participants from the group.
High-content imaging is one of the hottest new themes in computational science contributing to “building our digital future”.
CI3V can be expected to play a significant role in helping PSU to reach its potential as a world leader in making significant computing-based contributions to society.
