Detailed description is The Celtic Highland Games and Clan Gathering is always the third weekend of August.
2017's dates are August 18-20th free Friday concert, games sat-sun.
The Douglas County Scottish Society was formed April 30, 1990.
An ad had been placed in the News Review saying “Scottish Society May Form.” Charles Lamb placed the ad and there were 14 persons in attendance that first night.
Enough interest was shown to form the Society that very night!.
The Highland Games and Clan Gathering was at Millsite Park in Myrtle Creek for eight years, and in 2001 we made a move to Riverbend Park in Winston where we were warmly received by the community.
This year will be our 19th Celtic Highland Games and we hope it will be the best ever!.
We also sponsor a formal Robert Burns supper and night of great fun at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
We participate in parades and other ethnic functions.
We put on a Scottish High Tea in May of each year as a fundraiser to buy informative books on Scottish and Celtic heritage for the Douglas County Library..
